Designed to serve the unique health needs of St. Joseph Parish, this ministry promotes physical, emotional, social and spiritual well being. An important part of the ministry, the parish nurse, will coordinate the ministry by developing health education events and periodic health screenings. All members of the parish are invited to volunteer to assist in this ministry of health promotion and health education. We also host the annual Senior Citizen Banquet, raise awareness about “Respect for Life”, help the Dubois County Community Meals Program and provide donations as needs arise.
Come join us for fun and fellowship, while helping others. Meetings are held on the 1st Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in room #203 at the Parish Center or contact Lynn Scheu.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Do you have a special gift, which you would like to share in a special way? If so, this may be the ministry for you! The prayer shawl ministry began with a prayer and fellowship. Knitting/crocheting of shawls and/or lap blankets for the ill was our initial project, but the ministry has evolved into so much more. For example, we do knitted caps for those going through chemotherapy; we sew blankets and crochet mats for the homeless, sew stuffed bears, some of which are sent to Riley Hospital. There are members who make Rosaries for homeless veterans, and with our Annual St. Joseph Christmas Bazaar, we are always in need of a variety of creative items.
So no matter where your talents may lay, please consider joining our ministry. Meetings are on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in Room 304 at the Parish Center. Meetings are optional, but fellowship is guaranteed! If you prefer to do so, you can do your creating at home and then just drop off your items at the Parish Center. For more information, contact May Kleeman at 812-482-3892 or any ministry member.
