Dear People of Saint Joseph Parish,
As I settle in as your pastor, I have noticed many of the Masses are not nearly full. This has caused me concern of whether we are really meeting your needs for vibrant and energetic liturgies.
Our Saint Joseph Liturgy Committee has adopted a vision statement, “We at Saint Joseph seek active and vibrant participation with a reverent and welcoming spirit.” As we seek to carry out this vision, we would like the Church to be fuller and the only way to do this is to reduce the number of weekend Masses. This will allow us to have the greater potential for more enthusiasm and fervor during our times of worship.
Effective Sunday, March 8, 2020 we will have a new Sunday Mass time at 9:30 AM. The 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM Masses will be united into the new 9:30 AM time.
Saint Joseph must be a leader in setting a tone of mutual cooperation between our neighboring parishes in the Greater Jasper area. We can not see ourselves only as the “Saint Joseph Community”, our vision must be that of a member of the Greater Jasper Catholic community.
Let us seek to continue to work together with the whole community as we build up God’s Kingdom here and throughout Dubois County.
I humbly ask for your prayers of support as we move forward to make Saint Joseph and the entire community a stronger, more vibrant and energized Catholic Community,
