Each family that is seeking baptism at St. Joseph Catholic Church needs to attend a Pre-Baptismal Class with our Associate Pastor. If you have attended the class in the previous 5 years you do not need to reattend the class unless you wish to.
Baptisms take place after either Saturday evening 4:30 p.m. Mass or after the Sunday 9:30 a.m. Mass. Upon special request another time may be arranged.

Rite of Christian Initiation adapted for Children
If your child is 7-years-old through 12th grade and needs to be baptized, they will be placed in our wonderful program, RCIA for Children. We require that the child attends at least one year of Faith Formation prior to entering into their year of RCIA for Children. If your child has not had any formation up to this point, please enroll them in a year of Faith Formation.

Are you interested in becoming Catholic? The process for becoming Catholic is called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), which is our formation process for adults who:
- Have never been baptized.
- Catholics who were baptized but have not celebrated all of their Sacraments of Initiation (Eucharist and Confirmation).
- Those baptized in another Christian faith tradition who may be interested in becoming a Catholic. (Maybe our other class, Inclusion, is right for you – this will be determined through the interview process).
This is the Catholic Church’s process to bring people, through study, spiritual growth and community, into the heart of the Kingdom of Heaven. Here at our parish we call it INITIATION.
